The importance of being an adolescent is marked by the decisions
that have to be taken in an specific moment, and this decision can
leave a trace for ever. In this period there are some teenagers
who prefer to hide their feelings from a same sex person because
they are living in an hostile world. However, some others are more
determined to shout it openly, without minding conventionalisms,
moral attitudes nor hypocresy; in this way they are promoting
sincerity. And if they do it at an early age –although some
perturbed minds might believe that teenagers are a target to be
corrupted- some others will take example and will also do it,
without accepting anyone’s rejection. Sincerity must emerge when
one is an adolescent. These issues are going to be the main
subject of the present year edition, and several young filmmakers
from different countries will deal with these themes. They are
emergent talents who want communicate their worries to audiences.
At IX Barcelona International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival these
issues will be programmed in Catalonia which coincides with the
40th anniversary of the Stonewall events. Against homophobia:
