We would like to
congratulate Xavier-Daniel for his twenty years as a Director of the film
festivals specialized in LGTIB issues, and particularly for devoting such a
long time to the FICGLB. As the Ministry of Culture, Ferran Mascarell said: “with
his commitment, tenacity and love for cinema, Xavier-Daniel has combined Art
and the struggle for sexual diversity in an excellent way (…) The FICGLB has
been consolidated not just for being one of the worldwide reference festivals
about homosexual subjects, but also for showing a lot of high quality
productions which sometimes are not screened on commercial circuits and the
audience has not the opportunity to see them.”
Usually he puts first
the cinema quality over the themes, and the present edition, once more, will
not disappoint us. The programme is plenty of current events: from the “savoir
faire” of Israelian movies to a message against the sexual bullying at schools.
Year after year, the Festival bets for short films and for young cinema students,
who in fact are going to be our future filmmakers.
Congratulations
companion for these 20 years!
